Pattern.

First of all, I HATE being cold. I would much rather be super duper hot and sweating than shivering. Warm, to me, is usually associated with good and happy things like summer + vacations + beaches + sunshine...and maybe enjoying a cocktail outside. This time of year, if I wake up cold, its really hard for me to get out of bed and get dressed. And even harder for me to try and thwart the nagging pulling desire to just wear something like a giant hoodie. Anyway, I just saw these incredible patterns in the Marni Fall collection and cold or not, these would be super fun patterns to rock and mentally combat the looming colder temps! Maybe layered with a hoodie. Maybe not.

Wedding << sneak peek.

Heather and Jon of One Love Photo posted a little sneaky peek of our wedding on their blog a few days ago and I am sort of freaking out about it. Wedding photos are so interesting because its OBVIOUSLY a big day in your life and so you hire people to capture it. Then you wait and wait and it all sort of builds up. Anticipation. Holy hell, its totally worth the wait when you set eyes on truly incredible work. I love our sneak peek so much that I cannot wait to see more! H + J are not only superbly talented they are also just warm and wonderful people to be around. Good energy. Good people. I can't imagine having anyone else shoot our day. Enjoy a few of our favorites! ...so far.

Carved.

A group of us made the annual trip to the patch last weekend. GOOD STUFF! Even though Fall is sort of getting me down at the moment. A change in the season always seems to shake me and mess up my mind a little bit. I get so frustrated too because for me I really believe that your mood is something you can totally manipulate if you want to. But lately, I've just been a big baby grump.

Maybe the new Feist album will help? Or some of the amazing sh*t that KEXP is rolling out after their recent trip to Reykjavik for Airwaves '11. Tomorrow they are hosting a FREE show called Reykjavik Calling - it just might turn this ship around for me.

Here is a goodness example, Snorri Helgason performing from his latest album, Winter Sun:

Or there's always the Jay Z Pandora station which makes my soul sparkle a little bit with each song.

His Lobster.

So, for forever my older brother declared he would never marry. I guess that statement usually stands until you find the one who makes you want to marry them. Enter Jamie << the coolest chica on the planet. The gal will bow-hunt and clean her own, she's a flight nurse (bad ass!) AND she adores my brother. All good qualities. We were in MN recently for their wedding and it was a total blast. Oh My Gawd was it a good time. Welcome to the family, Jamie! I miss you all already, fam!
MY BROTHERS!
Blazer!

I did have a teeny bit of a meltdown at the Minneapolis airport though = Tears. Lots of'em. Lets just say the weekend was a bit of a "Roots" weekend. In the span of four days I managed to tick off just about everything that could possibly pull on the heartstrings for nostalgia and Minnesota. It was fall outside, which, just creates a backdrop of reflection in general. I drove past my old high school en route to my brother's wedding. Then I spent tons of time talking and catching up with all my relatives of whom I have not seen in YEARS. Oh and then there was the fact that the day after the wedding Tyson and I drove up to my Alma Mater and I gave him a little tour of CSBSJU. And I guess in reality it became more of a tour for me considering every other sentence was something to the tune of, "Oh my gosh!...and we used to do this and this and this and this!" Even the same bartender who was serving me beer in 2001 poured us a cold one that day. It was magic. Then all of my girlfriends and their kids and husbands/partners got together for a pizza night and I looked around the room at all the teeny life bouncing around and my heart just broke a little. Why is it that there are so many incredible people in MN, and other good stuff too, and yet I live in Seattle? But also, I just adore my life in Seattle and feel all comfy here and well, its just not all that simple and black and white.

Do any of you live somewhere other than where you grew up? And if so, how do you manage all of those emotions?

And check out my parents! The team who have been married 41+ years and STILL GOT IT! Ok, so this first picture was taken at my wedding a few weeks back (clear from the drunken bride in the background) but frankly I haven't had a chance to post about mine and I just loved this picture. They sure do love to dance at weddings. Cheers to married people!

**For those of you who don't know, His Lobster is in reference to a Friends episode. Friends rules.

Honeymoon {Folegrandos Island, Greece}

At the suggestion of our new friends on Milos, we decided to stop for a night on the island of Folegrandos en route to Santorini. Super remote. Super farm-y. It was really spectacular to be in such a sleepy, beautiful place. We opted for a little hike and then some more delicious food and drink. Life doesn't suck when you're on your honeymoon and you don't have much to do or really an agenda. I will say though, the island didn't have much of an agenda either and therefore we waited two hours for a bus to take us back to the Plaka after our hike. Ah well.

Someone shaved. And looks hot. Oh wait, that's my new husband.

Falling.

Now that Fall is officially upon us. Meaning, we are no longer planning a wedding and honeymoon and have arrived home to GASP! grey skies and falling leaves. I must say, I wish I had this bedroom to curl up in and read my book.

Stay tuned for the next honeymoon island <<< Folegrandos!
